Just Breath

Here are some answers to a few frequently asked questions:

Iā€™m not flexible. Can I still practice yoga?
Of course! Your flexibility will increase as you practice yoga. The most important thing is to listen to your body. You should not feel any sharp, shooting, or pinching pains while practicing yoga. If you do, come out of the pose immediately and tell your instructor so they can help you modify the pose to best suit you.

How do I know which level of class is best for me?
Finding the right class is important in order to get the most benefits from yoga! In our class descriptions we have described who the class may and may not be most suitable for based on the aptitude of your understanding of yoga and the limitations of your body. We encourage you to speak with us directly and try out different classes for better placement. Click here to read the descriptions of our classes.

How do I sign up for classes?
Just show up.  You may also register by emailing ingespencer@me.com

What do I need to bring to class?
You!! Our studio is fully equipped with everything you need including yoga mats and a wide variety of props. However, if you like to use your own mat, please feel free to do so!
*Leave your cell phone at home, in your car, or in the cubbies provided.* Please be sure to turn your phone off or put it on silent. Yoga is a serene and meditative practice so please be mindful of that.

What should I wear?
Any clothing that you would wear for general fitness.  Comfortable, stretchy, non-restrictive clothing is best. Also, we practice in bare feet so be sure to take your socks and shoes off before you enter the yoga room!

Should I eat before class?
It is best not to eat a large meal before class. Have no more than a small snack one hour before class.

What if I have special conditions?
Be sure to let your instructor know about any injuries, physical problems, medical conditions or other special conditions you have. This will allow the instructor to make modifications for you if needed.

When should I arrive for class?
It is very important to be on time. The door is locked at the start of each class. Please try to arrive about 15 minutes before your scheduled class to give yourself time to get set up and to settle in. If it is your first time visiting the studio, this will allow time for you to fill out the registration form and to discuss any special conditions (injuries, surgeries and other physical conditions) with your teacher.
